I'm a woodworker and I'm okay!

I work all night and I work all day....

I know if Steve could sing, he'd be singing this tune about now. He's been woodworking his butt off the past few weeks making this kitchen shelving at the Chicago Park District Wood Shop at the Loyola Park Fieldhouse.

Long time readers of this blog are familiar with Steve's work. He made shelving and brackets for our kitchen and now for the 2nd floor.

Here is a view of the inset Motawi tile. We have tiles for the backsplash that match this.

And here is a side view of the shelving. It hasn't been sanded completely or stained etc... The wood is maple.

Actually, Steve isn't really singing right now. Steve's pretty crabby. And me, I'm a bit overdone right now as well. But we have some nice shelving at least.

On another note and perhaps this has something to do with the crabbiness, the city came out yesterday and inspected the electrical. Of course, they had a few "suggestions" and now these have to be addressed. Nothing devastating, but still. I'll do another post on that soon. I know some people are interested in the city inspector thing...

Wow! I'm JEALOUS. Totally wonderful. I wish we had some wonderful woodworking skills...but, I don't think either of us have the patience for the details.
