This year we got 4 flowers on our Peony tree. Last year, we only had one, but it was huge. These flowers are literally like 7" diameter.
The first year we had a tragedy with it. A roaming band of kids came into our yard and broke half the baby tree off. They also ripped out some of my tulips.
I confronted them one morning about it. They have since moved away and the Peony is recovering. I think next year will be it's "big year" to establish.
Here's a close up of one of the flowers.

Beautiful!
I love peonies. My father gave us some purple peonies last year...but they don't look like they're going to bloom this year :(
I always think of my grandmother when I see peonies - she had tons of them around her farmhouse.
Wow! Those are so beautiful! My back is killing me. I just finished 'again' my final planting. I'm so excited this year!!!!!!! I'll have to post more pics on my blog. I planted some dusty millers, celosias, tons of petunias. The list is long. Went a little mad this year. LOL
Lovely! We got one flower on our peony this year (we planted it last summer). Now I hope we get more next year, like you did!
