and on the 234th day...it rained

What a sight for sore eyes and finally a week where we don't have to water - everything - constantly.

(Illinois has been in a drought in case you didn't know.)

and a good day to take a break in our case- we are recharging... and of course plotting for the future...

A nice summer rain shower, and it sounds like you guys needed it. What am I looking at here? Is that the back of your house or is there a garage or something on the alley?

Today I saw a show on PBS called Garden Smart or Smart Garden, I don't recall which, and it was all about Chicago Gardens. They spent most of the time in the roof garden on top of City Hall. Right at the beginning, though, they had a lot of quick shots of older homes and city streets with small gardens. I swear one of the homes looked just like your Dad's 2-Flat.

sd- thanks :)

Hey Greg- That's our back yard and the garage and then behind that is the alley. Our goal is to screen out the alley with arbor vitaes and a pergola but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'll have to watch for that show-thx.

I think I've said it before, but I love your yard! It looks like such a nice place to sit and relax & enjoy a beverage- or two!
