Okay, now bring on the weird google search results! I'm really tempting fate with this post name.
Anyway, I thought I'd post what I've been up to lately. I actually got a chance to finish the closet doors in our den and bedroom.
Here you see the room and door pre-stripping and refinishing.
And here it is after.
And here's the bedroom pre-refinishing. We still have that lone light bulb for a ceiling fixture. But, I ordered a new ceiling fixture from our friends at Rejuvenation. In a few weeks we'll have it. It's funny how much that bare light bulb doesn't bother me- really funny. It's amazing how accustomed I am to having unfinished things around me.
Here's the door refinished. The only trim in the entire building that has not been stripped is in this room. Unless we buy another building and start over (NEVER), my stripping life will be coming to an end soon. No more woman stripping here at the 2-flat.
How many of you are near finishing your stripping careers? Are you wistful? Glad to be finished? Ready to buy and start anew? Do tell!

I'm not even close to finsihing. {said in a somber, empty tone}
I'm close, but after my new found favorite tool (the heat gun) I have new stripping vigor. (though I'm a big fan of my orbital sander too--amazing what a difference the right tools make)
I'm sure if the right opportunity presented itself, you would joyfully retake up the stripping. (ie. maybe some furniture?)
I have miles to go before I sleep....
I have tons left and I seem to change tacks with regularity looking for a better way.
I have not yet begun, and I suspect it will be the end of me.
I am getting really close on the interior - But then there is the exterior siding crying to be feed from the evil stucco... sigh . Be glad your place is brick....
I can't, for the forseeable future, unless the paint isn't lead... we should have a post on that soon! But, as always, it looks awesome! What's your mailing address- I'll ship my doors and trim to you for the magical treatment!
it all looks so beautiful y'all! Stupid work has kept me from checking in and i've missed a lot. Well done you!
Oh dear! I didn't mean to gloat. We have quite alot of other work to do still- really!
And we "cheated" by hiring our own personal male stripper as you know.
I am glad to be free of the task, but at this point I am actually more sick of sanding wood than stripping it. I sanded all 1900 feet + doors + closet shelves etc... this summer. It seemed like the sanding would never end. I'm sure my body has stored that memory somewhere and one day I'll be on a beach somewhere on my honeymoon and smell sawdust memories... :)
